2 fast, 2 furious
Review by wraith6
Director: John Singleton
Rating: Star Destroyer, or Speeder Bike ... depending on your like of cars.
If you are into cars, action movies, and Gen-X-ers that have nothing better to do but break traffic laws, then the new movie 2 fast, 2 furious -- the sequel to The Fast and the Furious -- is the movie for you. The plot (surprising that this move has a plot) is that an ex cop (Walker), in order to clear his name and a laundry list of traffic violations, is recruited by a customs agent to link a drug trafficker with his laundered money. They are hired to run a gauntlet of cops to deliver the cash to the fleeing drug lord.
The car racing scenes are well directed full of thrills and spills. The cars themselves are actors in their own right. Souped-up late model street cars with lots of flashy paint jobs, neon trim up the wazoo, and enough noz to launch the space shuttle (that's nitrous oxide for you uninitiated types). If this movie should ever get considered for an Oscar (not even close), the cars have it in the bag.
That brings me to the next point ... the actors.
So if you like car chases, Gen-X style, get your booty to the movies. Otherwise, rent any Peewee Herman movie for more entertainment.
