Squeaky's Sneaky Spareribs
Squeaky, the Wraiths' Quartermaster, was a good cook if you could convince him to do it. When forced to evacuate a base, or when otherwise pressed for time, Squeaky resorted to these gornt ribs. He could use an old-fashioned slow-cooker for tender, tangy ribs that taste like he fussed a lot. This dish always got raves from the grateful and hungry Wraiths and their crew. Here on earth, use pork ribs and a crockpot. Cook them for 4 hours, or longer to make the meat fall right off the bones.
1/2 cup ketchup
2 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 clove garlic, minced
1 teaspoon ground mustard
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
2 lbs. pork spareribs
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
Combine vinegar, ketchup, sugar, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, mustard, paprika, salt and pepper in a crock pot/ slow cooker. Cut the ribs into serving sizes (2 to 3 ribs each portion). Heat the oil in a skillet and brown the meat in a skillet. Cover and cook on low heat for 4 to 6 hours. Yields 2 to 3 servings.
