Wookiee Hut Cuisine presents:
Mango Mike's
Castaway Bay, Sandusky, OH
Review by Rosie, DancingQueen, PandaCat

We spent school winter holidays at Castaway Bay, a new waterpark in the midwest. We decided to check out Mango Mike's, the house restaurant, which offered a very reasonably priced buffet dinner. The whole resort is very relaxed so no fancy clothes were needed. We wore jeans and shirts to this restaurant, but we saw others in t-shirts over their still damp swimsuits and no one batted an eye. At least that explains the unpadded chairs — if your butt is wet, no need to worry! You can still sit and dine in the colorfully decorated place. The coastal motif is a bit surreal in the middle of the continent, but it matched the resort's watery theme.

The buffet included chili as the soup of the day, a nice but not spectacular salad bar, mashed potatoes, stuffing, gravy, baked chicken, ham, stuffed pasta shells, tortellini, chicken strips, and coconut shrimp, plus a standard dessert bar. Nothing to write home about, but satisfying after a long afternoon of play in the various pools and slides of Castaway Bay.

We checked out the breakfast buffet another morning. Again nothing too exciting: rubbery eggs and greasy French toast sticks. Ah well ... you can't have everything. But then, if one is in a bathing suit all day, one does not want to overimbibe in food!
