Dagobah Creeping Crust Cobbler
Yoda prepared this dessert for Luke and taught him how to find the sweetest berries in the dankest corners of Dagobah's swamps while avoiding its creeping, slimy denizens. He told Luke never to go looking for the berries without taking his lightsaber along because the Dagobahn fruit snakes, who guard the best berry-picking spots, are extremely dangerous...
1 1/2 cups flour
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
3/4 cup milk
3 cups berries, washed (any berries work: strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, or even a mixture)
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Put the butter into a 9" x 13" inch pan and place on the stovetop over medium-low heat to melt the butter. In a medium bowl, mix the dry ingredients thoroughly. Add 3/4 cup of milk and mix to make a thick batter. Spoon the batter over the now-melted butter in the pan; it may be hot so handle carefully. Sprinkle 3 cups of washed berries on top of the batter. If you want, you can toss the berries first with 1/2 a cup of sugar. Do NOT stir.
Bake 30 minutes or until brown. The crust will creep up and cover the fruit, making a berry-studded treat.
