The perfect accompaniment to Sauerbraten or Bantha Stew!
enough water to make a thick batter (this has to be eyeballed)
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
3/4 tablespoon parsley flakes
3 - 4 slices white bread, crusts removed and cubed
1 - 2 tablespoons of oil, for frying
Mix the flour, eggs, and water to make a thick batter consistency. Add salt, pepper, and parsley flakes and mix well. Add cubed bread. If the bread absorbs too much liquid and the dough becomes too stiff, add a little more water.
Drop into boiling salted water using a large tablespoon. When the dumplings rise to the surface, let them cook for a couple of minutes longer. Remove from the boiling water with a slotted spoon.
In a frying pan with oil brown the dumplings slightly. Drain on paper towels then serve.
