Wookiee Hut Cuisine presents:
A & W

Everywhere in Canada
Review by Wraith6

This place is all over Canada, has been there for years, and is really the equivalent of McDonald's, only in the US, the name "A & W" is reserved solely for a brand of rootbeer. Not that that's bad, and being ubiquitous, you know you can get good rootbeer just about anywhere in the Great White North, whether from an airport kiosk, a counter in a food court, or a free-standing drive-thru type place.

We did drink an awful lot of rootbeer here, since we were tourists on a humid, hot day. The "large" size is about half a gallon, and one of us had three of them in a single day in an effort to keep hydrated! But soda is not the only thing they have: good burgers, decent fries, great onion rings, hot dogs, etc. Standard fast food fare, but they also have poutine, a Canadian classic! None of the Americans in our traveling group had ever experienced it before, which made it de rigeur -- you have not visited Canada if you haven't eaten poutine!

It's a mess of fries, cheese curds, and brown gravy. The fries go soggy and the cheese melts, and that's exactly the way you want it. It is a very good thing that we cannot find those cheese curds easily in the US!

For saving our lives by keeping us hydrated and for giving us a caloric and delicious new junk food, we think A&W is a Wookieehut must-visit!
