I was going to make myself a new pincushion because the old one was over 10 years old and falling apart. I had read in one of those really old Junior League recipe books that spent coffeegrounds in a pincushion would prevent the pins from going blunt, so I'd dutifully saved some. Just as I was going to do some sewing, I spotted a small stuffed animal someone had given me a while ago. I don't know why people give me these things, since I don't much care for them ... but doesn't he make a great pincushion? I'm rather pleased at this novel use of a stuffed toy! I renamed him "Prickly Bear" -- from Disney's The Jungle Book where Balu the bear sings about eating "a pawpaw, or a prickly pear" ... (I threw out the coffee grounds.)
